Although we can never write off traditional recruitment methods like job portals, advertisements, campus hiring, head hunting etc. but some new methods are proving to be more than useful.

Social Media:
With the expansion of social media in recent years potential for recruiters has grown. As most of your potential candidates are using social websites so there is a chance to directly get in touch with them. We can use social media in recruitment in different ways using different platforms like:

LinkedIn:
LinkedIn is so far the largest online network of professionals where they interact with each other. So it gives recruiters a lot of options to hire the best talent in the game.

Facebook Pages:
A lot of companies are making their career pages on Facebook to have a targeted audience for any future openings they might have. It’s a really useful way to fill your vacancies with ease.

Mobile apps:
Having your own mobile app for your current of future openings where a user can submit her resume is becoming a popular way among tech companies to attract new talent.

Employee Referral Program:
Although it’s not a new methods to many companies but still there is a lot of room for improvement to make this program more innovative. This program not only get you trusted resources but can help you reduce the turnover by designing it in a way that both new and old employees get something out of it.

Hiring Vans:
Not very popular yet but few companies are using it to attract talent from some bigger firms. Basically you hire a van and design it according to your needs saying, “we are hiring” and then park it in front of companies that have the best talent in your industry. Diploma Holders: DAE (Electrical, Electronics, Telecom, Computers) or B-Tech

      Minimum CGPA 2.80/70% aggregate for Business, IT Graduates & Engineers
      Minimum 60% aggregate for Diploma holders or B-tech
      Age: 18-25 years

Developing Questionnaire for Research

Questionnaire is tool used to collect data from sample in research. Developing questionnaire for research is not an art but a science. Because it require careful analysis of each item that it includes in order to make sure whether it measures what it is intended to measure or not. It should be valid and reliable. Validity is the accuracy of items while reliability is the consistency. There can be following situations in your research regarding developing questionnaire for research:

Developing Your Own Questionnaire

Developing your own questionnaire itself is a complete research and follows a rigorous data collection and analysis method. It is based of qualitative research. You have to discover the items that make a variable of your interest by collecting data from respondents. You use different statistical techniques such principle component analysis, exploratory factor analysis or other softwares that help you in your research of developing research questionnaire for research. The problem i have noticed with students is that they are not well of of the significance of this process. Immature research students immediately propose that they will develop the measurement tool by themselves neglecting the requirement of the tool being valid and reliable.

Using Existing Measures for Questionnaire 

When your using existing measure or already developed measurement items, you are either adapting or adopting the measures. Adapting means, making changes to the existing questions by yourself while adopting means adopting the questions as they are used by the researcher already. In all quantitative research it is appropriate to adapt or adopt the instrument keeping all the ethical constraints intact for developing questionnaire for research.

Structure & Content of Literature Review

In my previous post on literature review i gave you a tips on how can you conduct literature review for your study. In current post, i am sharing with you the structure & content of literature review. There are certain key points that can help you organizing the literature in effective manner.

Literature review should be structured in a way that should be giving clear picture of the previous researches in the area of your interest and variable you may be using. Begin your literature review with the current trends in your area of interest and particular sector you are studying about for effective Structure & Content of Literature Review. Try possibly mentioning the relevant facts and figures which clearly depict the current situation of the area of your interest. Then relate this situation to the variables of interest. For example your research is about customer satisfaction and brand trust in telecom sector, then you will explain its trend worldwide and particular to you country relating all information to your variables of interest (such as customer satisfaction and trust).

Then start explaining variables of your study one by one. For instance, customer satisfaction and brand trust, in our example, are the variables you are interested in researching about. Explain customer satisfaction theoretically  conceptually and operationally referring to authentic literature. Similarly explain brand trust in the same context. Next comes the time to discuss the empirical literature on relationship between variables of interest and in the end you discuss the gaps identified in the literature raising questions that your research will answer. Eventually you will explain that what you want to do in your research and this would be compete Structure & Content of Literature Review for your study.
